Light Brahma
  • Originated in Asia and brought to this country in mid-1800’s, the Light Brahma chickens are exceptionally quiet, gentle, and easy to handle.Brahmas adapt to most climates. With their heavy body and thick feathering, they are very cold tolerant. In the summer, if they have shade and water, they get along fine. The feathered legs and feet can collect mud in the rainy weather, and snow in the winter

    • Brahma will stand around 30 inches tall 
    • hen average 9.7 pounds
    • rooster average 12.5. at maturity.
    • First and foremost, Brahmas are found to be extremely hardy chickens.

      They are also good egg-layers for their size, and considered a superior winter-layerof around 300 per year from October to May of large brown eggs . The number laid will depend on the individual, and her quality of life. 

       

      They take confinement extremely well – having calm and docile personalities they make great pets.
